Q: How do you DIY SkinVac microdermabrasion / vacubrasion?
A:
Microdermabrasion is very simple. It is an easy technique that can be learned quickly by anyone.
3 easy tips:
First, it is important to LIFT the wand off the skin between passes to allow airflow to your machine. Otherwise, your machine can overheat and you can limit the life of your microderm source.
Second, you need to lightly pull the skin taut (mild tension) in the opposite direction that you are applying the wand. Watch the above video for a quick demo.
Third, always test the suction on the back of your hand/ forearm for a second or two before applying to your face.

Q: Is Vacubrasion safe for sensitive skin?
A:
Yes, Vacubrasion is natural, chemical- free, and safe for sensitive skin. It has been extensively tested in all skin types.
We recommend the BasicKit for more sensitive skin because it has an adjustable regulator for the lightest treatment. Use the lowest setting with all vents in the fully open position . Begin Vacubrasion for 1-2 minutes once every other week and gradually increase up to 3-4 minutes weekly as your skin becomes better conditioned.

Q: How long will a Vacubrasion diamond tip last?
A:
All Vacubrasion diamond tips are “Forever” tips. They are built to last for many years, if not forever. These electroplated, diamond chip SkinVac MD tips have been rigorously tested and used in professional skin care and dermatology offices daily with years and years of use.

Q: Is SkinVac PeTA approved and vegan?
A: Yes! PeTA ( People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has endorsed SkinVac Products as Cruelty-Free, as well as no animal testing.

Q: Troubleshooting: My SkinVac Pro suddenly powers off ( shuts off) for a while after 5 minutes of use, and then I can turn it on again later. What am I doing wrong?
A: SkinVac has a built-in safety fuse that will temporarily suspend your vacuum to avoid overheating. All vacuums need regular airflow to work. It is important you LIFT the microderm wand OFF your skin between passes on your skin.
Lifting the wand briefly OFF the skin allows air to circulate in your vac. If your vac is overheating, you may need to adjust your technique and remember to briefly lift the wand off the skin when you move your wand around your skin.

Overtreatment or improper use may lead to scrapes and scratches.
6. For nose congestion and blackheads, use either tip for 4-6 passes across the nose in an upward direction. Option to pre-treat the nose with a glycolic toner pad ( like Ultra Radiance) prior to microdermabrasion. As with any microdermabrasion, you can easily adjust the strength of your Vacubrasion treatment by

Q: “My kit came with two different diamond tips and one is more coarse than the other. The finer one says D-250 and the coarser one says 100. Is it just preference or is one better for your face and the other for the body?…(or) do you work your way up to the coarser one and also use it on your face? “
A:
Most people prefer the stronger D100 for regular use. It is the best “go to” tip, and safe for face and body. You don’t necessarily have to work up to this. The D250 is very gentle and a great ” go to” tip for very sensitive skin, or delicate areas like under the eyes (crowe’s feet lines).

Q: “How many times should you do the treatment in a week?”
A:
We recommend starting with weekly or twice/week face treatments for maybe 2-3 minutes. It is a really fast and easy treatment, and you can typically treat the entire face and neck in a few minutes.

Q: My ProDeluxe vac sometimes shuts off during a treatment. Is my machine defective?
In brief, all of our vacuums have a premium safety, built in overheat/shutoff switch that protects the unit in case of possible overheating.
It is very important to make sure to maintain good air flow into any vacuum during your treatment by simply LIFTING the wand OFF the skin between passes. Just lifting the wand off the skin lets air into the vac and keeps your vac from “suffocating”.
The vacuum will restart once the overheating has reduced. Good airflow to the motor should bypass the overheating risk.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: What is the “go to” strongest (coarsest) SkinVacMD tip for the body?
A:
The 75 grade tip is the strongest “go to” all around versatile tip for the body. Use it to freshen the skin of arms, buttocks, chest, and back.
(We have a newly engineered specialty D50 tip for Pedicures/ Soles of feet for calluses.)
______________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Is it easy to start doing microdermabrasion with my SkinVacMD?
A:
Yes. Simple!
Easily slip on the SkinVac brown round adapter to your own vacuum hose, or you can opt to buy a new small vacuum for microdermabrasion.
Turn on your vacuum. Apply the SkinVac diamond tip directly to forearm skin as test first. If skin tolerates suction and diamond abrasion, OK to start gentle exfoliation on face , neck, or hands. May use for 2-5 minutes 1-2 times a week on an area for best results. Typically, you will immediately feel smoother and fresher skin after just a few passes on the wand across your skin.
Make sure you LIFT the wand off the skin between passes, otherwise you can cut off air to your vac and cause overheating.
It is important to continue to lift the wand off the skin and not simply run the wand on the skin without breaks. Improper technique can cause your vac to overheat and shut off temporarily.

Q: Why is there a hole in the non-vented adapter?
A:
The non-vented adapter has a hole in it to prevent your vacuum from overheating during extended periods of use.
Q: How do I change the roller attachments on my LipoVac kit?
A:
You should be able to pull off the hose from the tip on the back of the roller. It is on there pretty tight. Some people have made it easier by lubricating it with vegetable oil or something of that nature, but you should be able to get it off without. Now take the roller you want to use and slide the hose onto the small plastic piece on the back of the roller
Q: How do I attach the non-vented adapter to the hose where the vented adapter currently is?
A:
Using the pictures below as reference, the vented adapter disconnects from the hose where the red circle is on picture 1. The hose will be on tight, but a strong pull should detach the adapter from the hose. If you are still having trouble, some people have used vegetable oil or something similar as a lubricant to make the hose slide off a bit easier. Now you can slide the hose onto the small side of the non-vented adapter (picture 5) and enjoy greater suction with your SkinVac/LipoVac.
